Helping young people navigate intense emotions, and avoid shame and meltdowns
You might be wondering:
Why are the meltdowns getting bigger or more frequent?
My child or teen can’t seem to follow simple routines or instructions.
Why is nothing that I'm trying working?
How do I respond in a way that actually helps?
The truth is, many young people struggle to regulate their emotions because they don’t yet have the tools or language, or the tools and language they are using aren't working anymore. That’s where counseling can help.
In our work together, I help children and teens understand what’s happening in their minds and bodies. We build emotional language, self-awareness, and coping tools so they can name what they’re feeling, learn what to do with it, and feel more in control. Just as importantly, I help you as the parent feel equipped and empowered to respond.
